As some of you may know I'm homeschooling my grandson. He's now ten years old and has never attended mainstream school. I love history and watch programs on the TV that deal with things that happened in the past. Today being Thanksgiving I'm binge watching Texas Rising. It follows the history of the Texas Rangers from right after the fall of the Alamo. I've got seven episodes to get through. Any way I got to thinking. My grandson does not have a subject called history. His history, geography, and all that sort of thing is now all lumped together in social studies. I'm not crazy about the way they are teaching math these days either. Why can't they just teach long division the way we learned it? NO. The kids have to learn arrays, and modeling and all this other stuff I have to learn to teach it to him. I love my not so little bug. He's up to my eye brows now. He's doing so well and holding a 94 percent average. Well that's my rant for the day. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.
